Jamal Adams is a different breed. When he’s on the field hek drastically changes the energy of Seattle’s defense. Adams is a hybrid safety. Meaning he can act as a linebacker and lurks around the line of scrimmage with his head on a swivel waiting to hit someone. He’s the best blitzing safety in football. Defensive intensity is contagious. We saw a much more ‘hungry’ defense on Thursday. Holding the high-flying Cardinals offense to mediocre numbers like they did must have warmed the hearts of Seahawks fans all over. Although he only tallied 2 tackles and 0 sacks his presence was felt. Quandre Diggs played an outstanding game flying all over the field. Having the presence of your best defensive player elevates the play of the rest of the D. Even though in the stat sheet Adams was pretty quiet, the play of Diggs and Carlos Dunlap more than made up for it. They were on pace historically for one of the worst defensive seasons ever. They play a very inconsistent Wentz against the Eagles on Monday Night. A great game to keep the momentum going. With Wentz’s struggles we could see another big day from this Hawks D.

A pair of fiery veterans squared off again. Aaron Rodgers and Philip Rivers squared up in a duel of old men. Old men in comparison to the rest of the QBs in 2020. But it was the leg of the Colts rookie Kicker that stole the spotlight and gave Rivers the win against Rodgers and the Packers in overtime. The Colts are sitting on top of the division led by their big-mouthed QB, Philip Rivers, and one of the league’s grittiest defenses. Phil got the last laugh in this one.

One of those young NFL QBs making the job look easy is Justin Herbert. Hollywood Herbert adds to his impressive rookie accolades by the week. He threw for 377 yards with 3 TDs no interceptions. A near flawless performance against a team filled with flaws. Herberts now thrown for 2+ TDs in 7 straight games. Herbert continues to feed the ball to his best player Keenan Allen who hauled in 16 catches for over 140 yards and a TD. Allen now has 81 receptions which leads the NFL. Watch this play below. When was the last rookie quarterback to make a throw like this? I’ll give you the quick answer. No one.

The Chiefs-Raiders rounded out the football weekend on Sunday Night. A primetime matchup in one of the league’s longest rivalries going back to the AFL. If you expect to beat the Chiefs you can’t give Mahomes the ball with any time left on the clock and down a score. Mahomes does have 2 interceptions this season, both against the Raiders. Just like the Seahawks over the Cardinals on Thursday Night the Chiefs took down their only real contender in the division.

Jared Goff and Sean McVay got a little bit of redemption against Tom Brady. For the redemption to come full circle the Rams need to knock down Bill Belichick. It was Bill Belichick and his defensive masterpiece on McVay’s high flying offense to 3 points in SB 53. Brady has been anything but the GOAT on primetime TV this year and it continued this past week with barely going north of 200 yards with 2 TDs and 2 interceptions. This was a very minor moment in the big picture for the Rams who have Super Bowl expectations. This could be a playoff preview. Knowing TB12 he’ll be around during postseason time.
